The Siyandisa Scholarship Programme highly personalises our offering to increase the nature and value of the support provided – not only to our scholars in matric, but extending to our recipients’ tertiary studies.

We could not be prouder of the Siyandisa Foundation Class of 2021 who together amassed a total of 242 distinctions with an average of 5 distinctions per scholar at the release of the matric results in January 2022.

It’s about that time of the year where women are being reminded and applauded once again on how strong and resilient they are in having to endure so much and yet still being able to handle themselves with esteemed elegance and poise when needs be.  I struggle to understand why God saw me fit for the scores on my statement. The feelings cannot be deciphered for with an abrupt ambivalence I felt compelled to confess my envy at their sight. A generous donation in the form of two high quality projector systems to the value of R20 000 each from Peripheral Vision, is a sure way to not only positively change this narrative for scholars in rural disadvantaged schools but also aims to renew the hopes of those scholars who, as a result of this global disaster, were unable to continue with school for an extended period of time.

It is with the assurance of the resilience at work in our 50 Siyandisa Foundation Scholarship Recipients of 2020 currently writing their final matric exams across South Africa, that I as Scholarship Programme Coordinator believe they will show that they have overcome the obstacles that the Covid-19 pandemic may have put in their paths.
