At Siyandisa Trust we believe in our future and invest intentionally for development, growth and empowerment and see ourselves as a partner that wishes to help grow South Africa.
It is this vision that has inspired, driven and motivated us to establish the Siyandisa Foundation Scholarship Programme, to invest in the leaders and success stories of tomorrow and also in this way contribute to and help grow South Africa.
The Siyandisa Foundation Scholarship Programme has as its goal the growing of excellence through the identification of top scholars in which to invest to further their careers.
We have chosen to invest in candidates that have already demonstrated excellence and help them to further excel. We firmly believe that insufficient attention is paid to the support of our top candidates to allow them to achieve their potential. Accordingly, we have established a focus on “Growing excellence” in our programme and through this initiative provide a vital stepping stone for these gifted individuals.
The Scholarship Programme has been developed for impact and to provide critical resources and support to these deserving scholars. The programme provides the ideal opportunity for a scholar that has shown demonstrated excellence in his/her academics to benefit from the encompassing Scholarship Offering we provide under the programme.
To qualify for our Scholarship Programme a scholar:
• Must be a Black South African citizen
• Must be a Grade 12 learner in 2017.
• Must have achieved an 85% or higher average across all subjects for Grade 11.
• Must attend a Free State school.
• Parents/guardians must have been exempted from paying school tuition.
This last criterion is important to note, as our focus is on assisting scholars that also have a demonstrated financial need and who despite difficult and challenging financial circumstances have managed to excel.
The Scholarship Programme provides study and personal support to successful applicants in their Grade 12 year, aiming to assist the applicant to achieve outstanding results in his/her matriculation examinations at the end of 2017. But the programme does not end there and continues to provide benefits to scholarship recipients by affording the opportunity to become part of an elite alumnus of scholarship recipients which in turn will entitle him or her to qualify and apply for exclusive pre- and post-graduate tertiary scholarship bursaries.
As can be seen, our aim is to establish a long term relationship with each scholarship holder and help them not only with completing their secondary education successfully, but providing opportunity and support to also achieve at a tertiary level.
The first Siyandisa Scholarship recipients will be announced on 25 April 2017.
